When first moved to Chicago and started taking classes at Mazi – I had to go and buy new jeans because I went down 2 pant sizes. Also, I feel physically stronger and more fit than I’ve ever been.
Tips for those that are starting to work out or for overcoming hurdles:
Have fun – don’t take your workout so seriously. Smile, it makes the next 8 counts easier.
How has dancing helped you over other types of work outs:
I never liked working out on machines or at gyms. I always loved dance workouts – keeps me moving, the combinations keep me thinking so I can forget about the long day at work and just keep dancing.

I can actually run a 5k now at a decent pace which really surprised me. Zi Cardio is so much fun that I don’t even realize I’ve been training for an hour of cardio.
What keeps me going:
The next new song at Zi Cardio and the challenge of learning a new dance. At the same time though improving on the dances I’ve already learned.
Tips for those that are starting to work out or for overcoming hurdles:
If you are just starting Zi Cardio, keep going back. By the third class you will already know a lot of the moves and then it just keeps getting more fun. And just have fun with it. No one is watching you because everyone is watching themselves
How has dancing helped you over other types of work outs:
I have been coming to Mazi for over a year and this is the longest I have ever consistently worked out. It keeps me interested and entertained and I always look forward to class so I never think about skipping my workout.
